Tracey Bregman is celebrating 35 years (!) at The Young and the Restless. The actress has been steaming up the Genoa City scene since 1983!

Bregman recently sat down with Digital Journal to reflect on her years of playing Lauren Fenmore Williams Grainger Baldwin!

“It blows my mind that it’s been this long,” Bregman told Digital Journal.

Early DAYS
Even though she was only 19-years-old when she joined Y&R, the CBS serial wasn’t her first soap. The actress previously played Donna, the son of Don Craig (Jed Allan) on Days of Our Lives.

Lauren started out as a mean girl, taunting Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) over her weight. She decided to throw a bikini party, hoping to embarrass her rival.

In 1985, Bregman became Y&R’s first acting Emmy-award winning performer when she took home the gold in the Outstanding Ingenue In A Drama Series category.

Long before DAYS’ Carly (Crystal Chappell) was buried alive, psycho Shawn Garrett (Grant Cramer) buried Lauren alive. Fortunately, her love at the time, Paul (Doug Davidson), saved her.

Oh, Sheila
Bregman’s greatest and perhaps longest story arc was her rivalry with unbalanced nurse Sheila Carter who became obsessed with Lauren’s husband Scott (Peter Barton). Sheila stole Lauren’s baby with Scott and passed him off as her own. She replaced Lauren’s son with another child, Dylan, who succumbed to meningitis.

The actress hasn’t spent all of her 35 years as Lauren on Y&R. She brought her department store owner character to The Bold and the Beautiful throughout the ’90s and early 2000s. The Sheila/Lauren showdown on B&B propelled the half-hour soap to number two in the ratings for the first time ever.

Today’s Lauren
Lauren wed current husband Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) in 2005 and the pair has been a fan-favorite duo ever since!

Recently, she squared off against Sharon over her relationship with her son, Scott (Daniel Hall). What’s next for Lauren? “I hope to travel more, and I hope to have a good storyline,” Bregman says. “We’ll see what happens.”

The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
