Nick and Sharon have split up and made up countless times on The Young and the Restless, but there were definitely times that were especially devastating.
In fact, they’ve broken up so much, even their own daughter Faith doesn’t believe this new attempt will happen and we can’t say we blame her.
After all, both Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) are keeping secrets from each other (well, Sharon knows Nick’s now) — and it’s not the first time. Here’s a look at some of their most heartbreaking splits.
1. State of Grace
Sharon’s best friend Grace acted like she was still her best pal but became obsessed with her best friend’s husband.
Nick didn’t help matters when he succumbed to her charms not once but twice (OK, to be fair, the first time he was drunk and thought she was Sharon)! Sharon overheard them talking about it and moved out with the kids.
2. Oh Baby
Matt Clark’s dying words to Nick had been that he’d been with Sharon. After his death, Nick and Sharon reunited and she became pregnant.
Nick wanted a paternity test but she didn’t want the risk to the baby so when Nick left in a huff, she ran after him, fell, and the baby died. The baby turned out to be Nick’s, but Sharon couldn’t forgive him.
3. Green-Eyed Monster
Sharon thought Nick was cheating on her with Grace, who she spotted in town, so she pursued Diego.

Nick whisked her away and the two reconciled but Sharon confessed her affair. Nick took it horribly, turned to Grace, and then the two really did split up. Again.
4. Mourning Cassie
After their dead daughter, Nick and Sharon both spiraled. He ended up in an affair with Phyllis that Sharon found out about — and the two split. She turned to Brad Carlton for comfort.
5. Summer Loving
Nick and Sharon were going to tie the knot again when Phyllis appeared (after being in a coma). Scared that she was going to reveal her secret, Sharon ran off.
Eventually the truth came out — Sharon had switched the DNA results and Nick really was Summer’s father. Nick couldn’t forgive Sharon and left her once again.
