The Young and the Restless recap for October 14-18 features Cane’s strange Vegas trip. Adam’s refusal to come home, and Connor’s absolute terror.
Chelsea (Melisa Claire Egan) was right to worry about Connor’s recent behavioral issues because they have only gotten worse. He physically roughed up a kid at school, broke furniture in his room, and he even frightened the daylights out of poor Christian by locking him in the garage.
Chelsea was absolutely beside herself and unsure how to proceed. Clearly the therapy sessions with Sharon (Sharon Case) weren’t having any impact and everything she and Nicholas tried to do to reassure Connor was also a bust.
Chelsea became absolutely convinced that her only recourse is to track Adam (Mark Grossman) down and convince him to return home. To that end, she got Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) to divulge Adam’s exact whereabouts down in Vegas. But before she could leave, Nicholas offered to make the journey instead.
Sin City
Speaking of Las Vegas, Cane (Daniel Goddard) spent most of the week unconscious following his attack in that back alley. After what seems like days, he finally awakened inside a room and found his cell phone and a large envelope that apparently contained Katherine’s (actual) Last Will and Testament.
Devon (Bryton James) remained convinced that Amanda (Mishael Morgan) was nothing more than a con artist and his suspicions are raised even more when he overhears her refer to her client as an “old jerk.”
Chance is many things — stupid, a loser at love, a poor chooser when it comes to friends and confidants, stupid — but one thing he is not is old. Had Amanda said “stupid jerk,” then we would have had our man.
Later, Nate (Sean Dominic) tried to sweet talk some facts out of Amanda and got her to reveal that she had a legal partner who passed away. She also admitted to being homesick and claimed she is only sticking around to see her case through because she has never lost one.

After an incident with Dina (Marla Adams), Jack (Peter Bergman) returned home and told Traci (Beth Maitland) that their mother spoke of a man named Stuart. The siblings do some digging and began wondering if she could have possibly meant Stuart Brooks.
Needing more answers they turn to Stuarts daughters — shout outs to Lori, Lesley, Chris, and Peggy — and the two oldest are able to provide a letter Dina had written to their father years ago. Traci and Jack examined it and decided that it reads like a breakup letter.
If they would like some more info on Stuart Brooks the man, perhaps they could ask his second wife: Jill (Jess Walton)! Not only were the two married but Jill literally sliced into his throat with a butter knife in a successful effort to perform a tracheotomy.
And although the marriage ended in disaster — that tends to happen when you fake both a pregnancy and a miscarriage — Stuart’s next marriage kept it “in the family” so to speak seeing as how his new bride was Jill’s mother.
But do you think the writers will do their due diligence and even address these facts? It’s doubtful. Time will tell. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
