Becoming a parent is something Greg Rikaart dreamed about for years. The Young and the Restless star and his actor/director husband, Richard Sudduth, welcomed their son earlier this year.
And Baby Makes Three
With the help of a surrogate named Marcela, Montgomery Argo Rikaart-Sudduth came into the world on June 13, 2016. In his two months of life, Monte’s done what all babies do–kept his parents up all night, taught them that eating a hot meal is a luxury, and gave them their greatest blessings.
According to the August 22 issue of Soap Opera Digest, Rikaart describes parent as a brand-new chapter in his life. “It truly felt like everything before that was book one,” he says. “And then book two started the moment he was born.”
Life on the Go!
With Monte around, Rikaart’s had to up his game. Balancing home life and both dads’ stardom can be a hard task for any family. His role as Kevin on Y&R already keeps Rikaart on his toes, and he hasn’t had much of a break in screen time. Performing double duty is only possible with the help of supportive families and a nurse who relieves the daddies a few nights a week.
While Rikaart isn’t quite ready for the baby to come to work with him yet, those days are coming. After his immunizations and nanny care are in place, Rikaart said his son will start hanging out on set. Monte, of course, has to spend lots of time getting to know his future bride, Olivia Gaston.
