The Young and the Restless (YR) recap for Monday, October 16 features Traci, Abby, and Graham managing to make the reveal about Ashley’s parentage all about themselves, as Sharon wondered what’s going on with Mariah and Tessa.
The Truth Is Out There — Now!
Dina (Marla Adams) spilling about Ashley (Eileen Davidson) not being John Abbot’s biological daughter prompted Traci (Beth Maitland) to wonder why she wasn’t on the Need To Know List, while Abby (Melissa Ordway) demanded why she was never told she wasn’t really an Abbott.
(Abby wasn’t nearly as upset to find out that the man who raised her, Brad, wasn’t her biological father, or to drop the Carlton last name she grew up with, for the Newman brand.)
Graham (Max Shippee), meanwhile, wasted no time booking a flight to Florida — after leaving an unconscious Dina on the floor of her hotel room. But then Ashley demanded Graham let her in and found the ailing Dina… who hadn’t yet changed her will to cut Graham out.
It’s Complicated
Sharon (Sharon Case) twigged to the weird vibe between Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes), in that the BBFs were barely speaking. Or, rather, Mariah was barely speaking to Tessa.

Sharon wondered if Mariah was feeling rushed in her own relationship with Devon (Bryton James) by the speed with which Tessa and Noah (Robert Adamson) are progressing. Mariah denied, denied, denied. But her labeling the relationship “complicated” only concerned Sharon more.
Freedom Of the Press
Zack (Ryan Ashton) tried to pump Scott (Daniel Hall) for details regarding his ongoing sex-trafficking investigation, but Scott was vague. H did reveal that his source, Alice (Tamara Clatterbuck), is missing.
(He doesn’t realize that Tessa has already told Zack they had a woman helping them on the inside.) Zack wondered about Scott’s relationship with Abby. And he didn’t even see the hug they shared later…
