The Young and the Restless tapes roughly several weeks ahead of what’s airing. Due to the coronavirus crisis, the series may run out of original episodes before the show returns to production. What’s going to happen?
The Young and the Restless: Back To The Past
There are reports that the show will air classic episodes mixed in with original shows to help fill the time slot. According to actors’ social media accounts, performers will shoot introductions that will set up what was going on leading up to the classic episodes.
Tracey Bregman (Lauren) posted on Instagram a photo of herself wearing an attractive sports jacket and top — along with some holiday pajama bottoms!
Either YR will show a Christmas episode in which Lauren was featured prominently or she’ll be shot from the waist up! “When @youngandrestlesscbs and @cbstv @sonypictures ask you to do wrap arounds from your quarantine,” Bregman posted. “So love pajamas and slippers 🥰 Get ready for classic episodes!!!”
Castmate Lauralee Bell (Christine) posted in response: “Ha! I’m doing them soon! Now I know the attire! 👏👏👏.”
Doug Davidson (Paul) shared with a fan on Twitter that he heard a Paul and Christine post-wedding episode from 1996 will be rebroadcast. “I hear our honeymoon episode is scheduled!!” the actor enthused.
“We want suggestions,” Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) asked on Twitter, referring to a post that YR would start airing classic episodes of the 47-year-old soap. One fan asked to see the episode in which J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) rescued Colleen (Lyndsy Fonseca) from the fire at Gina’s set by Kevin (Greg Rikaart).
Another poster asked to see classic episodes in which Phyllis and Dru (Victoria Rowell) squared off or episodes with Dru and Neil (the late Kristoff St. John). “Basically anything Dru,” the poster wrote.
Stay tuned for official word from CBS on the airing of classic episodes. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
