Tracey Bregman has been on three of the four soaps still on the air, having started her career on Days Of Our Lives before created the role of Lauren on The Young And The Restless (which she’s also brought to The Bold And The Beautiful). Now, Bregman has an important message for all her followers!
The Emmy-winning actress is the latest daytime star to discover that some fake social media accounts have been created in her name. She recently grabbed a screenshot of a faux account and posted it on Instagram to warn her fans not to fall prey to any potential scams that might arise as a result.
“These accounts are NOT mine!” Bregman posted. “It saddens me that people do this and then ask for money.”
It’s ironic that someone is impersonating Bregman online because, on YR, Lauren also had an imposter — Sarah Smythe (also played by Bregman) back in 2010. Sarah claimed to be the sister of Lauren’s longtime nemesis, Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown).
One way to tell if an account is authentic is that there’s a blue checkmark next to a person’s name. Also, if there are few followers on the account, that’s also a good indication that it’s not real! The Young And The Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
