This amazing soap opera star celebrates today! The Young and the Restless veteran Tracey Bregman will be making some birthday wishes!
Bregman was born on May 29, 1963, which makes her 55 years old today. She’s played Lauren Fenmore on Y&R since 1983 and is one of the show’s first Daytime Emmy winners!
Both Bregman and her real-life pal Beth Maitland (Traci) won Daytime Emmys on the same day in 1985; Maitland’s victory was for Outstanding Supporting Actress and Bregman won the award for Outstanding Ingenue (now called Younger Leading Actress).
Bregman’s first soap role was as Donna Craig on Days of Our Lives.
As Y&R’s Lauren, Bregman has run the gamut from naughty vixen to beloved heroine. Soon after hitting the scene, Lauren and Traci were pitting against each other for the affections of Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian).
Then, Lauren moved onto love and marriage with Paul (Doug Davidson), but she became the obsession of Shawn Garrett (Grant Cramer), who ended up burying her alive!
Paul rescued Lauren, but their marriage didn’t survive Shawn’s evil deeds.
She moved onto another marriage with Dr. Scott Grainger (Peter Barton), but a psychotic nurse, Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), became obsessed with Scott and after trapping him into marriage with a child she’d later miscarry, Sheila stole Lauren’s son with Scott (Scotty, last played by Daniel Hall) and passed him off as her own.
The Lauren/Sheila rivalry became legendary and crossed over into sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful where Bregman played Lauren for many years.
She returned to Genoa City in the early 2000s and fell into a new romance with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) whom she married in 2005.
In real-life, Bregman was two grown sons, Austin and Landon, with former husband Ron Recht.
