The Young and the Restless Star Tracey Bregman Celebrates a Major Milestone

Lauren Fenmore is a pretty punctual person on The Young and the Restless, but her portrayer, Tracey Bregman, was purposely late in sharing some news with her fans. In light of Wednesday being the Inauguration, Bregman opted to celebrate her 38th anniversary with YR a day late.

“[January 20] marked my anniversary of starting @youngandrestlesscbs,” Bregman shared on Instagram. “I felt it inappropriate to post anything for obvious reasons. I can not tell you what this job has meant to me and how much I love each and every person in our production.

“I am truly grateful every day and say a prayer to Bill Bell [Y&R’s late creator/head writer/senior executive producer] every day, thanking him for my career and giving me the opportunity to be a mom and an actress. He asked me to bring my babies [sons Austin and Landon] to work with me, so I would feel secure.

“Thank you to all the writers and @joshgriffith55 [executive producer Josh Griffith], who have kept Lauren alive and feisty!” Bregman adds. “To all our producers, directors and production, @margotcwm [Margot Wain, CBS programming exec], 💗@cbstv @sonypictures, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and also, thank you all for keeping us safe during such an insane time. @christianjleblanc @bethmaitlanddqb @therealmichaeldamian @dougdavidsonyr @pattyweaverart.”

Bregman joined the show in 1983 after a run as Donna Craig on Days of our Lives. Lauren was a key member of the show’s younger set. Her rivalry with Traci (Beth Maitland) was legendary as the two women competed for various men, including Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) and Brad Carlton (Don Diamont). Who could forget Traci getting even with ‘mean girl’ Lauren by dumping a sundae on top of her head?

After being paired with Doug Davidson’s Paul, Lauren, a singer, was stalked by an obsessed fan, Shawn Garrett (Grant Cramer), who ended up burying her alive! Lauren was rescued and moved onto a marriage with handsome doctor Scott Grainger (Peter Barton). Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), a nurse who was obsessed with Scott, stole Lauren’s baby (Scotty) and passed him off as hers and Scott’s.

Lauren got her baby back and her rivalry with Sheila was so epic it crossed over to sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful. After spending some years in Los Angeles, Lauren returned to Genoa City. She fell in love with Michael Baldwin (Christian J. Le Blanc). The two married and had a son, Fenmore (Zach Tinker), who has kept them on their toes with his addiction problems.
