The Young and the Restless Star Shemar Moore Shares a COVID-19 Update

Last December, Shemar Moore, best known as Malcolm on The Young and the Restless, revealed he’d contracted the coronavirus, prompting him to hunker down so he could focus on his health. Now, the star of the primetime series S.W.A.T. is giving a health update.

Shemar Moore Back At Work

“COVID Free!!!!” Moore enthusiastically posted on his Instagram account. “Now it’s time to go back to work!!! Blood Sweat n tears… My Entire Dream is calling…. ‘Hello.'”

The actor originally thought he’d contracted food poisoning when he started showing symptoms, but now, he’s well enough to return to filming his nighttime police drama.

In another post, the actor shared an important S.W.A.T. update. “We are back with an ALL NEW #SWAT…[tonight] at 10/9c [on CBS]…and your boy is back at work getting his ‘HONDO’ stank face on.”

Tonight’s episode of S.W.A.T. is titled Under Fire. The plot has the S.W.A.T. team going on a hunt for a sniper who is targeting members of the Los Angeles Fire Department. The shooter sets fires around the city to lure in unsuspecting firefighters.

Also, watch for the rivalry among Chris (Lina Esco), Street (Alex Russell), and Tan (David Lim) to intensify after Tan finds out there’s a pool as to which of them will win a leadership competition.

Moore became an instant sensation after debuting as Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) half-brother Malcolm on YR in 1994. He landed a job as a photographer. One night, Drucilla (Victoria Rowell) was zonked out on cold medicine and invited whom she thought was Neil into her bed — only it was Malcolm, who mistakenly thought that Dru wanted him!

Many years later, it was finally revealed that Malcolm was the father of Dru’s daughter Lily (Christel Khalil). While Moore exited YR nearly 20 years ago, he has returned to the show a few times, most recently in 2019 when YR wrote Neil’s death into the storyline, following St. John’s untimely passing. S.W.A.T. airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
