Actress Noemi Gonzalez stirred up some trouble during her brief but memorable run as Mia, Rey’s estranged wife, on The Young and the Restless. The actress has gone on to appear in other projects, including Netflix’s Selena: The Series, as Suzette Quintanilla. Recently, she took some time to reflect on this particular moment in history.
“With everything going on in the world & in your personal life… how do you want to survive?” Gonzalez asked her followers on Instagram. “How do you want to look back on it? I often ask myself how my future self will talk about this wild, stressful, heavy time, and it helps to ground myself in our ever-changing reality…
“Stay mindful, stay grateful, stay well friends. A shift has begun,” the actress adds. “Doesn’t matter how ugly it looks, just accept w a fight or with grace, but make sure to also find the beauty. So much love to you!!!”
Initially, Mia hit Genoa City hoping to reconnect with her husband, Rey. She faced a formidable adversary in Sharon (Sharon Case), Rey’s new love (and now his wife). Viewers learned that Mia and Rey’s estrangement occurred due to her lingering feelings for Arturo (Jason Canela). The two brothers were mostly able to put this conflict aside.
But Mia couldn’t get Arturo out of her system. One night, Mia and Arturo gave in to passion, and oops. Later, she learned she was pregnant and either Rey or Arturo was the baby’s father. After Mia learned that Arturo was the dad, the two expectant parents opted to return to Miami.
Recently, Arturo popped up for Rey and Sharon’s wedding, which he actually officiated. Arturo beamed with pride over being a new dad to his son, Mateo. Mia was absent from the wedding, which might have been best given all that went down with the Rosales brothers. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
