Michael Mealor hit the ground running when he debuted on The Young and the Restless last year as Kyle Abbott. Now, the actor is celebrating his upcoming one-year anniversary in Genoa City and more!
The actor has a unique birthday as he was born on February 29 aka Leap Day, which only occurs every four years. As this year isn’t a leap year, Mealor technically doesn’t have a birthday, but we bet he’s celebrating the anniversary of his birth anyway on March 1 (wouldn’t you?)!
Mealor quickly made the role his own when he debuted on YR on March 29, 2018. Estranged from his father, Jack (Peter Bergman), Kyle and his pops slowly but surely reconnected.
The actor was a relative unknown when he was cast in the part. His pre-Y&R credits included the part of Frat Guy on Chasing Life and “Fratty Dude” on an episode of Supergirl.
Last year, YR had Kyle banter with Summer (Hunter King) and, more recently, he’s entered a relationship with Lola (Sasha Calle) that has some staying power.
Mealor grew up in Georgia and excelled at sports in high school, but he also pursued acting. He attended college, briefly, but then decided to try his luck in Hollywood, and the rest, as they say, is history!
Soap Hub joins the actor’s family, friends and fans in wishing Mealor a happy birthday and many happy returns!
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
