As previously reported, Melody Thomas Scott, beloved as Nikki Newman on The Young and the Restless for over 40 years, has been working on her memoir. Now, there’s an update as to when fans will be able to get their hands on the anticipated tome.
According to Amazon, Scott’s autobiography is set for a July 14, 2020 release date. The upcoming book is titled, Always Young and Restless: My Life On and Off America’s #1 Daytime Drama.
Written by Scott (with Dana L. Davis), the book is set to feature a forward by Camille Paglia, a professor at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who has championed both Scott and her Genoa City alter ego for years.
Readers can expect Scott to delve into her early childhood where she was raised by her grandmother, a hoarder, who acted as Scott’s manager — and not always favorably. Scott will share her experiences as a child actor being directed by Alfred Hitchcock in the 1964 film Marnie and how she later took control of her career and her life.
Count on Scott sharing stories about YR and what it’s like being half of the show’s iconic supercouple — Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki! Scott’s not the only YR star to take pen to paper. Her leading man, Braeden, penned his memoir, I’ll Be Damned, a few years ago. In 2012, the late Jeanne Cooper (ex-Katherine) authored Not Young, Still Restless.
