Melody Thomas Scott Is Celebrating An Incredible Milestone

Melody Thomas Scott is synonymous with The Young and the Restless. The actress celebrated her 40th anniversary with the top-rated soap and now, she’s celebrating something else!

It’s her birthday, so the fan favorite and Emmy-nominated actress is making birthday wishes!

Earlier this year, Thomas Scott was the center of attention — rightfully so — when she was honored for four decades on YR in an on-set ceremony filled with friends past and present.

The actress joined YR in 1979 and quickly ingratiated herself into the hearts of fans everywhere. Her popularity soared after Nikki, a stripper with a heart of gold, was paired with Eric Braeden’s Victor. Nikki and Victor are the show’s top couple, and no matter how many times they drift apart, fans want them to be together!

Born Melody Ann Thomas on April 18, Thomas Scott began her career as a child actress, working in the Alfred Hitchcock film Marnie in 1964.

She was offered a role in a sitcom pilot and YR at the same time. Her agent urged her to take the soap much to the delight of YR fans everywhere!

The actress’ other TV credits include a recurring role on The Waltons, and guest spots Charlie’s Angels, The Rockford Files, and the TV movie The Scarlett O’Hara War.

Thomas Scott is wed to Edward J. Scott, YR’s former executive producer, and currently, supervising producer at The Bold and the Beautiful. The couple have three daughters: Jennifer (Edward’s from a previous marriage), Alexandra Yeaggy (whose father is late makeup artist Carlos Yeaggy), and Elizabeth.

A devoted I Love Lucy fan, Thomas Scott was invited to be an original board member of the Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Center in Jamestown, New York in 2002.
