The Young and the Restless, Melody Thomas Scott
The Young and the Restless (YR) star Melody Thomas Scott has lots to celebrate these days! Not only is her character Nikki in a hot new romance with a hunky contractor, but Scott is celebrating an important anniversary with the top-rated soap!
Scott, who’s played Nikki since 1979, is celebrating her 39th year in Genoa City! Her co-star Doug Davidson (Paul) retweeted a fan post honoring Scott’s run as Nikki.
As trivia buffs know, when Scott joined the show she was simply Melody Thomas. She added the handle Scott after marrying Edward Scott, the show’s producer in 1985.
Her run as Nikki has given Scott tons of material to play over the years. In addition to being the true love of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Nikki’s been a stripper, run for political office, and given birth to children.
She’s also had other marriages, including ones to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and David Chow (Vincent Irizarry), and she came thisclose to marrying Brad Carlton (Don Diamont).
Today, Nikki’s in an uneasy union with Victor (but we’re guessing, in time, they’ll admit their love for one another) and is in a business arrangement with her son Nick (Joshua Morrow), which has brought her into contact with hunky Arturo (Jason Conela)!
If her stories continue like this, next year Scott can say with full confidence “Life begins at 40!”
