It’s been talked about for a while, but now, it’s officially official. Melody Thomas Scott beloved as Nikki Reed Newman on The Young and the Restless, is becoming the latest daytime star to take pen to paper and write her memoir so, get ready to “Reed” all about it!
“Hi, kids!” Scott tweeted. “It’s official. My life on-screen and off is literally going to be an open book. ‘Always Young and Restless’ will be out July 14…”
Watch for Scott to reveal in her tome never-before-told, surprising, intimate, and complicated truths of her upbringing and her 60+ year journey in the entertainment industry.
“Even though I have spent almost my entire life as an actress and performer, I have kept my private life well behind the scenes,” said Scott. “Now, I am ready to share these stories of survival and success that have shaped me into who I am today.”
Readers will learn how she suffered at home with her grandmother, a compulsive hoarder whose cruelty as her guardian is shockingly extreme; abuse at the hands of industry men; the intensity of acting in feature films with Alfred Hitchcock (Marnie) and Clint Eastwood (The Beguiled); and how she finally took control of her life and career.
In 1979, Scott joined the cast of YR as Nikki. Last year, she celebrated her 40th anniversary with the top-rated serial. Her other TV credits include guest-starring roles on The Waltons, Charlie’s Angels, The Nanny, Diagnosis: Murder, The King of Queens, My Name Is Earl, Castle, and The Crazy Ones.
Scott and her husband, Edward Scott, Supervising Producer, The Bold and the Beautiful, have three daughters. You can pre-order Scott’s autobiography, Always Young and Restless on Amazon by clicking here. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
