Count Melissa Ordway among the handful of daytime stars who split their time between Los Angeles and Nashville. The Young and the Restless star checked in with her social media followers in light of both the holidays and the horrific explosion that happened in downtown Nashville on Christmas Day.
While the widely reported news of the detonation made immediate headlines, Ordway (who plays Abby), her husband Justin Gaston (who briefly subbed for Donny Boaz as Chance on YR), and their daughters Olivia and Sophie, spent their holiday off the grid. “Christmas in Nashville,” the actress’s post began. “No phones. No internet. No television. And it was glorious.
“Not what we had expected, but hey… that’s 2020,” Ordway somberly added. “We started a band, played all day, and spent precious time together. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the horrible, senseless act yesterday in Nashville. And all the brave first responders.
“Hope you all had a joyful day ❤️,” added the actress. On an upbeat note, she playfully asked: “Also, whose idea was the drum set…? @jmichaelgaston.”
Check out Melissa Ordway’s post below, which includes her and her family in Nashville as her daughters play some musical instruments delivered by Santa, of course!
Ordway’s co-stars were glad to read her post and see that she and her family were doing okay despite being so relatively close to the blast. “Happy you guys are safe! Love & prayers in Nashville,” posted Lauralee Bell (Christine).
“Love you guys,” wrote Tracey Bregman (Lauren), who also spends time in Nashville when she’s not shooting at YR. Added Beth Maitland, who plays Abby’s Aunt Traci: “Love you!!”
“You have a beautiful little family,” wrote @karen.louise1951. “Always hold them right, and never feel you say I love you too much because it will never be too much. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.🙏💖.” The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
