Once Abby and Chance’s baby is born, the happy parents will get to re-live childhood firsts on The Young and the Restless. Off-screen, Abby’s portrayer, Melissa Ordway, a real-life mother of two, recently got to do that too!
Her daughter Olivia lost a baby tooth! Actually, Olivia lost not one, but four baby teeth, Ordway shared on Instagram. “The tooth fairy paid us a visit last night!” the actress revealed. “🧚 Olivia has lost 4 teeth! 🦷 This was the biggest one yet! At first, I was worried that she was too little to lose teeth but after a trip to our wonderful dentist, he assured us she was perfect (I already knew that)! And her big teeth growing in are perfect too!!! 💛.”
Olivia losing four teeth at once could potentially run her mother and father (Justin Gaston, ex-Ben, Days of our Lives; ex-Chance, YR) approximately $16. According to an article in USA Today, the average cost of a tooth in 2018 was $3.70. Rounding up for inflation, it’s fair to say that a tooth today could go for $4.
Currently, Abby and her absent husband Chance, who’s away on a special mission, are employing surrogates to have a baby. Both of them have issues with being able to biologically reproduce, so both Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Devon (Bryton James) have been tapped to help them make their dream come true.
Nina (Tricia Cast), Chance’s mom, is in town, lending support to Abby as she processes the enormity of becoming a mother. Christine (Lauralee Bell) has lent her legal expertise on the matter, too.
A lot can happen between now and when the baby (yet to be conceived) is born, however. There are plenty of people involved and there are a lot of emotions at play. In addition to Abby and Chance wanting to become parents, there are Mariah’s and Devon’s concerns to think about, too.
Devon, specifically, came from the foster care program. How will he feel about having his child raised by other people? Now, he wants to help Abby and Chance, but is he going to be content watching his son or daughter grow up from a distance? Stay tuned to see what’s going to happen next.
