There’s a lot more that goes into Melissa Claire Egan’s storyline than sitting in a chair as Chelsea tries to recover from her stroke. Recently, The Young and the Restless actress shared how and when she records Chelsea’s voiceovers that help tell the audience how she’s feeling!
Melissa Claire Egan On Chelsea’s Thoughts
“Voiceover time for Chelsea!” Egan shared in an Instagram post that includes a photo of her in a recording booth. “At the beginning of every week I record all the voiceovers for the week’s episodes with our EP Tony (or one of our directors) and Dino our awesome audio mixer.
“Do you guys like that you can hear Chelsea’s thoughts now, even though she can’t speak?” Egan queried. “What do you think will happen next?”
In addition to some of her co-stars posting their thoughts on Egan’s Instagram, which can be seen below, followers of YR shared their thoughts, too. “You’re [doing] a good job!” chimed in @auntj123. “I think Chelsea will regain her mobility but will make Adam and everyone else believe she is still ill. Get him, girl.”
“Loved that Chelsea got up and walked yesterday, even if it was a dream,” posted @leah_and_saige. “You’re doing an awesome job!”
“You will secretly get all of your senses back and attempt to kill Sharon” joked @rhetagraham. Writers have been known to take Egan’s characters down dark paths before. As Annie on All My Children, after being written as a heroine for years, Egan’s character even stabbed Erica Kane (Susan Lucci)!
However, Chelsea is not Annie; she tends to get what she wants by conning people — not physically attacking them! Time will tell if and when Chelsea regains her mobility — and if she keeps a potential recovery to herself. Stay tuned to see what happens next! The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
