The Young and the Restless Star Melissa Claire Egan Announces Miracle Pregnancy

Chelsea Lawson knows how to keep secrets, but the woman who portrays her, Melissa Claire Egan, can’t keep quiet about some big news! The Young and the Restless star is expanding her family!

“Very excited to share, Baby Boy Katrosar is set to arrive at the end of August💙,” Egan posted on Instagram announcing that she and her husband Matt Katrosar, a TV executive, who has made some appearances on YR lately, are having a baby!

“As happy as we are, the journey to get here has been filled with lots of tears, stress, sadness, helplessness, hopelessness, and 2 miscarriages,” the actress adds. “To anyone going through this process or any kind of fertility issues, I feel you, I see you, you’re not alone. I wish I could jump through this phone and give you a big hug. Please do not give up hope. Keep trusting and have faith. You got this!!!”

Egan joined YR in 2011 as Chelsea, a con artist who had sex with Billy while overseas. She gave birth to their son, Johnny, but then agreed to let Billy and Victoria raise him.

The actress left the show in March 2018, returning in June 2019. To facilitate Egan’s exit, the writers had Chelsea return to her con artist ways. She extorted funds from her own company and walked away from her relationship with Nick (Joshua Morrow) to go on the lam. After coming back, Chelsea’s relationship with Nick didn’t last and she returned to her past love, Adam (Mark Grossman).

Recently, Chelsea’s been reminding viewers she’s a con artist by faking her recovery from a stroke. How long will she be able to convince everyone in Genoa City that she hasn’t regained her mobility? Stay tuned to find out!
