Kristoff St. John is back as Neil on The Young and the Restless after taking time off to deal with some personal issues. Fans are happy to see him on-screen once more and by all appearances, St. John is thrilled to be back, too!
The two-time Daytime Emmy-winning St. John took a hiatus from the show last fall in order to deal with some personal issues.
The show explained Neil’s absence by saying he’d moved temporarily to New York to take care of his son, Moses, while his mother, Sofia (Julia Pace Mitchell), recovered from an accident.
Neil returned earlier this week just in time to break up a squabble between his son Devon (Bryton James) and his (and Devon’s!) ex-wife Hilary (Mishael Morgan).
St. John’s been back taping for a few weeks now and he took to social media to show much he appreciates both being back at work and having supportive pals at the studio, many of who posed with him in some social media photos.
“Thanks to so many for being a light house to guide me through stormy waters,” St. John wrote on Instagram.
The actor first joined Y&R in 1991 following the cancellation of Generations, the NBC sudser on which St. John starred as Adam Marshall.
He won his first Daytime Emmy in the category of Outstanding Younger Leading Actor in a Drama Series. His second came in 2008 in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor. In total, St. John has been nominated 11 times for a Daytime Emmy.
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
