The Young and the Restless star Hunter King recently posted some words of wisdom that she hopes will be of benefit to anyone going through a hard time. She wants you to know that things in life can be tough, but it’s important to hang in there.
Hunter King Opens Up About Mental Health
“Depression [messes] with your head….it tells you you aren’t good enough, that you’re a burden, that you’re alone…. at least that’s what it tells me,” King posted on Instagram. “It sucks. I know it can be really hard to be honest about our mental health especially if we feel embarrassed about our struggles, but my hope is that the more we talk about it the less alone people will feel.
“I’m thankful for my friends and family that push me to talk about things that are hard,” the actress adds. “It’s important to not keep it all in. Just know you’re not alone, and that you’re loved❤️ (felt like kismet to see this little message today).”
King’s YR pals, friends, and followers weighed in with supportive comments upon seeing her emotional missive. “I love you ❤️ you’re so beautiful inside and out and I too have the days that I don’t connect to that but know that you inspire me!” posted Gina Tognoni (ex-Phyllis), who played King’s TV mom for many years. “I know that my God gives us grace and MERCY.”
“You are so loved it’s crazy!!!!” responded Joey King, King’s sister. “You are the strongest beauty I know.” Kate Linder (Esther) and Christian Jules Le Blanc (Michael) also posted supportive emojis.
“Thanks for sharing,” added @jkp0227. “A good reminder that many people suffer in silence needlessly. And a reminder that appearances can be deceiving. Don’t assume someone is ok, ask them.”
