The Young and the Restless Star Hunter King Reveals A Price Is Right Secret

It’s been said that soaps are an “heirloom,” something passed down from generation to generation. That’s true also with game shows and Hunter King of The Young and the Restless, who recently guested on The Price Is Right as a model.

A Hunter King Surprise

During King’s time on the show, she revealed that her mother had been a contestant on the top-rated game show in 1990. She spent time in contestants’ row and won her way up onto the stage where she played a game with then-host Bob Barker!

“She won a bedroom set and a rocking horse,” King told Price’s current host Drew Carey.

Producers dug up a clip of King’s mom, Jamie, on the show where she can be seen strategically bidding $1 on a prize, hoping that her competitors had gone too high in their guesses. It worked! King’s mom won and got up on stage. Jamie then went on to play Safe Crackers with Barker and her luck continued as she won the next prize!

King joined YR in 2012 as Summer Newman, the daughter of Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Nick (Joshua Morrow). There was always a belief among some fans that Jack (Peter Bergman) was Summer’s true biological dad and that the paternity tests had been altered.

For a while, Summer did believe Jack was her dad, which impeded a Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer dynamic. However, it later came out that Nick was Summer’s true pop. Currently, Summer and Kyle are workmates only (for now) because he’s happily wed to Lola (Sasha Calle).
