The Abbott clan on The Young and the Restless suffered a tremendous blow this year when they lost their matriarch, shaking up their lives, including Ashley Abbott. Now her portrayer, Eileen Davidson, has revealed that she and her real-life family have also suffered a death in the family.
Eileen Davidson Pens Tribute
The two-time Daytime Emmy-winning actress took to Instagram to share that her beloved dog, Charlotte, had to leave them — and that their family is hurting over this profound loss. She shared many adorable pictures along with the moving words.
“We had to send our LOVED DOGGO Charlotte off a couple days ago,” began Davidson, “and we are all gutted. Loved our moomers beyond and so grateful for everything she brought to our lives. What a spirit.”
While our furry family members bring incredible joy into our lives, watching them struggle near the end is a special kind of heartbreak that many can relate to — and it’s so hard to let them go. “She fought to stay with us until her body gave out,” added Davidson. “Special thanks to #malibucoastanimalhospital Charlotte loved you 😢❤️❤️❤️”
The relationship between our pets and their advocates in the medical field can help ease the pain, as the vets are often just as devastated by the loss as we are. The special shoutout Eileen Davidson gave to Charlotte’s team was surely appreciated.
It’s not easy to process such a hard loss of unconditional love that in no doubt was a huge comfort to the star during this bizarre coronavirus-riddled year that has most people staying home more than ever but it surely meant the world to Charlotte to have her family around so much more.
Soap Hub sends condolences to Davidson and her entire family during this difficult time. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
