Did you know popular “Young and the Restless” star grew up on the Tar Heel’s state’s Fort Bragg campus?
North Carolina’s famous natural beauty plays a central role in LeBlanc’s (Michael Baldwin) childhood experience. On the day of his first communion, he planted a tree at Fort Bragg, taking a picture with it that he still has today.
LeBlanc also fondly recalled picking flowers for his mother in the state’s bucolic surroundings.
“All of us would just pick handfuls and we’d give them to our mom and we forced her to put them in vases,” he said on local CBS affiliate WNCN.

In what’s becoming a familiar refrain “The Young and the Restless” stars, LeBlanc shares thesestrong bonds with North Carolina. Mara McCaffray (Natalie) and Greg Rikaart (Kevin) also have ties to NC.
McCaffray was born and raised there, attending Wake Forest University in her native state. Her father still teaches history at University of North Carolina-Wilmington in the capitol.
Rikaart starred on “Dawson’s Creek,” which filmed in the southern state.
“The people of North Carolina are amongst the loveliest, warmest, nicest people I have ever met,” he said.
Speaking of glow, LeBlanc said his childhood memories have a “golden glow” to them! In what is a sure sign you’re at home somewhere, LeBlanc also said he began speaking in a Southern accent during his last visit there!
