Her onscreen persona, Lily Winters Ashby, remains in the big house on The Young and the Restless, but her portrayer, Christel Khalil, still has something to celebrate!
The Emmy-winning Khalil was born on November 30, 1987, which means that she’s turning 31 years old today!
Khalil first joined Y&R in 2002 when her late mother Dru (Victoria Rowell) came back to Genoa City after they’d been living in Paris.
The young actress was thrown into some heavy storyline as Lily became a victim of Internet predator Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart).
Lily had her share of suitors including Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson; formerly Billy Miller), but when Y&R paired Lily with Cane (Daniel Goddard), the pairing shot to supercouple status almost overnight!
Khalil played the part for three years from 2002 to 2005 and then left the show. She returned a year later and has remained on the front burner until recently when the actress opted to go on recurring status.
To accommodate her absence, the show’s writers sent Lily went to a far-away prison after she inadvertently caused the death of Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and her unborn son.
Off-screen, the actress has a son, Michael, who is eight years old.
Soap Hub joins Khalil’s family, friends, and fans in wishing the performer a happy birthday and many happy returns! You can too by clicking the Twitter link below.
