The Young and the Restless honored Peter Bergman’s 30 years as Jack Abbott with a tribute show earlier this week. The story device of Jack and Traci (Beth Maitland) putting together the family biography prompted the Abbotts to gather as flashbacks were shown, highlighting Jack’s life over the past three decades.
While the Jack-centric episode aired on Monday, November 25, Bergman’s actual anniversary was Wednesday, November 27, as records indicate he debuted as Jack on that day in 1989. The actor’s YR co-stars took to social media to congratulate the actor for his accomplishments, professionalism, welcoming nature, and being an all-around great guy!
Whether it’s a longtime co-star such as Jess Walton (Jill) — whom Bergman screen-tested with to earn the role — or recent guest star Jeffrey Vincent Parise (Simon), actors on YR are in unison in their respect for the three-time Emmy-winning star.
The following is a representation of tributes that were posted on social media to Bergman from his The Young and the Restless pals including Walton, Beth Maitland (Traci), Lauralee Bell (Christine), Sharon Case (Sharon), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis), Bryton James (Devon), Jason Thompson (Billy), and Parise.
Additionally, Bergman’s pals across the hall at The Bold and the Beautiful expressed their best wishes to the actor. And not just any three — John McCook (Eric), Don Diamont (Bill), and Heather Tom (Katie) all had been on YR, respectively, as Lance, Brad, and Victoria. Soap Hub joins the daytime community in wishing Bergman a happy 30th anniversary as Smilin’ Jack. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
