No one ever read in The Young and the Restless spoilers anything that said Kyle is what one would call a loyal or faithful fellow with a good sense of what he wants. The same goes for Phyllis.

Phyllis was married to Jack (Peter Bergman) when she had an affair with his brother, Billy (Jason Thompson). Then, she was with Billy, when she slept with her ex-husband, Nick (Joshua Morrow).

Kyle (Michael Mealor), on the other hand, married Summer (Hunter King) in order to save Lola’s (Sasha Calle) life. Then he divorced Summer to marry Lola. Then, while married to Lola, he decided he really loved Summer.

Family Love

So Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) was attracted to Kyle’s father and uncle. Kyle was attracted to Phyllis’s daughter. There is plenty of evidence there that they’d be attracted to each other.

The question is: Would they be morally averse to a hookup? Hah. It’s funny because we used morally in the same sentence with Kyle and Phyllis. They’ve both made it clear morality is not a consideration in their romantic choices.

Phyllis Can Do Better

Sure, Phyllis can do better than some wet-behind-the-ears kid. But Phyllis is also not a fan of the Summer and Kyle pairing. What better way to nip that in the bud, once and for all, than by sleeping with her daughter’s boyfriend? Phyllis saw how Billy didn’t want her anymore once he found out she’d slept with Nick. What’s good for the goose and all that.

Too Dumb To Notice

And why would Kyle sleep with Phyllis? Well, first and foremost, Kyle will sleep with anyone. And he wouldn’t find anything suspicious about Phyllis suddenly wanting him. Kyle assumes all women want him.

He also believes he can explain away anything. And make all women believe him. We’d say Kyle finally met his match. But this isn’t even a close contest. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
