The Young and the Restless cast members are all going to be checking in with their fans on the show’s Facebook page and other social media platforms today and tomorrow. Who better to wrangle the show’s numerous actors than the performers who hosted GC Buzz — Camryn Grimes (Mariah) and Mishael Morgan (Amanda; ex-Hilary)!
Hilary and Mariah? Not Quite…
“The GC Buzz is back! 👏,” YR posted on the show’s official Twitter account. “@MishaelMorgan1 and @camryngrimes are interviewing the #YR cast in a two-part series just for you. Don’t miss part one today at 6 pm ET/3 pm PT on the Y&R Facebook page and CBS.com.”
Watch for the program to be hosted by Grimes and Morgan — not their characters — as they chat with their castmates to see how they’re doing while staying quarantined. The two actresses spoke to TV Insider as to how this will all be presented.
“We don’t know how they’ll exactly edit this but I think it’ll be Mishael and myself side by side [on-screen] and then we’ll talk to individual actors,” Grimes previews. Adds Morgan: “What I like about this is it almost feels like we’re getting a glimpse into what backstage at GC Buzz was like. It’s a reflection of what we’d do [on-air] before we’d ‘roll’ the show. Hilary played this over-the-top boss and Mariah was the straight man. We played with that so much on set.”

Grimes first started on the show in 1997 as Cassie and Morgan debuted in 2013 as Hilary. Both characters were killed off, but both actresses later returned to the show as other characters, Mariah and Amanda, respectively.
There was some coming up to speed technical issues in order to pull this off. “Our team is so freaking incredible, Grimes says. “They held our hands every step of the way.”
“We can’t talk over each other on Zoom,” Morgan notes. “That would disrupt the flow. It’s all about learning new skills.” Don’t miss the return of GC Buzz on YR’s social platforms. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
