The Young and the Restless recaps for May 10-14, 2021, features Adam sacrificing a piece of himself for a worthy cause, Chelsea putting her faith in Victor, and so much more.
The Young and the Restless Recaps Highlight
Nate (Sean Dominic) confirms that Adam (Mark Grossman) is a viable kidney donor, and preparations get underway for the transplant. Before going under the knife, Faith (Reylynn Caster) requests a face-to-face with her uncle. She thanks him for his sacrifice, and he asks her to look at his action as a long-overdue apology.
A Woman (Seemingly) On The Verge…
Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) is summoned to the Newman Ranch. Upon arrival, he’s confronted by Victor (Eric Braeden) and a raving Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan). She eventually confesses to being the one responsible for poisoning Rey’s toiletries, though she swears that she was driven by her desire to make Adam and Sharon (Sharon Case) pay for the affair they were conducting.
The trio is eventually joined by Michael (Christian Le Blanc) and a psychiatrist. The good doctor suggests that Chelsea be sedated and placed into his care, rather than be arrested and sent to jail. Rey and Michael concur, and exit the scene in order to facilitate the transfer.
Unbeknownst to the two, Chelsea, Victor, and Dr. Hedges take the opportunity to go over their plan one final time. Chelsea will continue to feign stroke-induced psychosis until such time that she can stage a recovery; then, she will be freed from the cushy institution without ever having to serve hard time in the hoosegow.
Uninvited Guests
Despite looking forward to his and Summer’s (Hunter King) engagement party, Kyle (Michael Mealor) continues to ponder the might-have-beens in reference to Harrison. When he’s gifted John Abbott’s prized pocket watch, Kyle’s guilt over keeping his son a secret worsens.
The festivities get off to a fine start, though they’re eventually marred by the sudden appearance of Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) and Harrison.
Talking Points
Rey asks Sharon if there’s any validity to Chelsea’s claims, and as a result, Sharon fears that her marriage is well and truly over. When Rey makes the effort to reach out following Faith’s release from the hospital, Sharon pointedly questions where she and Rey stand.
Future Forecast
After recovering from his surgery – and awakening from a stylized dream concerning his past, present, and future – Adam endeavors to become a better man…and he even promises to help reunite Sharon and Rey.
However, his magnanimity does not extend to Billy (Jason Thompson), whom he endeavors to crush with the aid of Cyaxares. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
