The Young and the Restless recap for Tuesday, May 12, 2020, features the continuation of Great Rivalries week by focusing on Victor and Jack and a flashback episode from October 1, 1993, which finds Victor back from the dead… and Genoa City wondering what this means for Jack.

The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

While Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Victoria (Heather Tom, now Katie on The Bold and the Beautiful) and Nicholas (John Alden – son of then YR head writer, Kay Alden) mourned poor, dead Victor (Eric Braeden), he was hiding out in Kansas with Hope (Signey Coleman), the blind farm woman who would eventually mother Adam (Mark Grossman).

Well, now Victorwasis back – with Hope in tow. His children were absolutely delighted. Victoria took the opportunity to tell Victor he is always right, and she was so, so wrong for ever doubting that. They wondered how Nikki will react to the news of his resurrection.

Son Rise

Meanwhile, John (Jerry Douglas) and Jill (Jess Walton) wondered how Jack (Peter Bergman) will react to the development. In Victor’s absence, Jack had gotten Jabot back for his family – and taken over Newman Enterprises. John rants about how Victor set Jack up to get everything he ever wanted, so that he could deliberately rip it away from him.

At the same time, Brad (Don Diamont) was all giddy at the prospect of Victor returning and kicking Jack out.

Housing Court

Paul (Doug Davidson) and Christine (Lauralee Bell) tried to talk a bad man – we know he’s a bad man because he has a mustache – into not selling a building where some old people viewers barely know live. The bad man says no. Because he is a bad man.

Last Call For Jack and Victor

In the final moments of the show, Jack sees a back-from-the-dead Victor and dropped his glass in shock.

It tells you everything you need to know about which side the show is on when an episode dedicated to the Victor and Jack rivalry. It didn’t even feature Jack until the very final minutes.
