The Young and the Restless Recap: Thursday July 12

The Young and the Restless day-ahead recap (YR) for Thursday, July 12 featured Billy covering his tracks, Phyllis putting on her PI hat, and a budding love affair between Neil and Ashley.

Lies Upon Of Lies
Billy (Jason Thompson) awoke to Summer (Hunter King) nagging him and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) demanding answers. He’s caught between a rock and a hard place after losing another fortune and can feel the walls closing in.

Thankfully, he was fast on his feet and at least got his girlfriend off his back – or so he thought.

Phyllis knows a liar when she sees one and while she didn’t call Billy out right then and there she did start her own investigation. She dove into his office logs, and financials for evidence to counteract his tall tale.

Catching A Book Cook
Also looking into his finances is Ashley (Eileen Davidson) who has caught on to some serious discrepancies in the Jabot books. Her radar is up and she vows to account for every single penny or find whoever’s skimming off the top.

All the while, Billy was in a blind panic and searched for another table to join. He has to win back his money before he runs out of time.

Of course, it wasn’t easy since he’s out of money and had to turn to an old gambling friend to free up some cash.

Electric Romance
Later, romance was in the air when Ash went to visit Neil (Kristoff St. John). Drinks led to compliments which led to flirtations which almost led to a hot and heavy moment. 

Unfortunately, their good time didn’t last long. Victor (Eric Braeden) came pounding at the door.

A whole new set of fireworks go off at Neil’s condo. The Mustache knows all about Power Communications and had a lot to say.

Victor doesn’t take lightly to backstabbers and he certainly didn’t let his old friend off the hook. In fact, he cut ties right there on the spot.

The couple didn’t let his interruption ruin their night. After Victor stormed out they got back to business at hand and shared a romantic dinner and a sultry kiss.

Kyle the Cupid?
Speaking of romance, Kyle (Michael Mealor) dabbled in a little matchmaking of his own. First, he sat down with Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and got a rundown of her failed romance with Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) and then he went to HW to chat up the other.

He pushed each gal to ask out the other but it seems that step is too much for either to take.

The convo did get Mariah thinking and she looked for a little love advice on her own, this time from Summer.

The blonde has it all – looks, confidence, and sex appeal and Mariah wants in on her secret.

JT Called Out Victor
Later, Victor’s day took a shocking turn when a text came in from JT demanding to meet.
