The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, January 3, 2020, features the possibility of Mariah and Tessa having something more to do than just listen to other people, sing, and announce how happy they are — off-screen.
Plus, Chelsea had news for Adam he didn’t want to hear and Sharon faced a potential life-changer.
The Young and the Restless Recap: Out of the Past
When fans first met Tessa (Cait Fairbanks), she was living in her car. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) hired the complete stranger off the street to give Reed guitar lessons. We then sat through a story about Tessa’s missing sister, and a tepid romance with Noah (Robert Adamson).
This led to Mariah (Camryn Grimes) falling in love with her, Tessa stealing Mariah’s song — and being forgiven. Tessa blackmailing Mariah’s mom — and being forgiven. And their current back burner happiness.
But something finally happened! Alleged superstar musician Tanner Watts (Chase Coleman) wants Tessa to open for him on tour. Mariah was thrilled and wondered why Tessa is thinking of turning him down. Tessa admitted Tanner is her ex-husband!
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) told Adam (Mark Grossman) that Nick (Joshua Morrow) broke up with her — but that didn’t mean she’s ready to get back with him, either. Adam developed selective hearing and suggested he and Chelsea go on a date. (Where is Connor, who needs to spend every waking moment with both of them or else tragedy erupts? He’s at the ranch… or something…) Adam announced he loves her and toasted to the future.
YR Recap: Life and Death
Sharon (Sharon Case) called her doctor to make an appointment: She discovered a lump in her breast.
Meanwhile, when Kevin (Greg Rikaart) and Chloe (Elizbeth Hendrickson) couldn’t find the right moment, Bella broke the big news to Michael (Christian J. LeBlanc), Lauren (Tracey Bregman), and Esther (Kate Linder), “Mommy and Daddy are having a baby!” The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
