The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, January 9, 2020, features a Chelsea and Adam reunion — and maybe a Phyllis and Nick one, too? Meanwhile, Tessa had something for Mariah, and the doctor had news for Sharon.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) was delighted to hear that Nick (Joshua Morrow) dumped Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan). She raged about Adam (Mark Grossman) a bit, then told Nick how great he is.
Phyllis announced she plans to have more fun in the new year. Nick noted that a fun Phyllis is a dangerous Phyllis.
At the same time, Chelsea told Adam how wonderful he is and how scared she is of suffering if she ever loses him again. Adam promised to be even more wonderful and sowore Chelsea will never lose him again. They had sex. Where is Connor (Judah Mackey)? Oh, who knows?

On the Road Again
Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) surprised Mariah (Camryn Grimes) with an early birthday dinner, then told her she’s going on tour with Tanner (Chase Coleman). She assured Mariah it’s because of her because she knows their relationship can take it and because Tessa knows she never loved Tanner. Tessa didn’t know what love was until she met Mariah.
Tessa gave Mariah her journal. It was her way of making up for stealing Mariah’s journal that one time. She seemed to think the gestures are somehow equal.

Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) noticed Sharon (Sharon Case) has been distracted lately, but she assured him everything was fine.
She then went for her mammogram, which was inconclusive. She got an ultrasound, which suggested the mass isn’t a cyst and might be a tumor. To find out whether it’s malignant or benign, the doctor recommended a biopsy. A shell-shocked Sharon signed the necessary papers. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
