The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, July 3, 2020, features an episode featuring two babies and a wedding (kind of like three weddings and a funeral, only not at all).
In this episode from August 7, 1996, Christine and Paul finally marry – a scant two years after they first tried – and head for the honeymoon… which Olivia feels entitled to interrupt. Why? Because her kid is missing. Meanwhile, Phyllis makes sure Danny spends quality time with “their” son.
Paul (Doug Davidson) and Christine (Lauralee Bell) tie the knot at long last. Earlier, Paul had a warm moment with his mom, Mary (Carolyn McCormick), and Chris with her best friend, Nina (Tricia Cast).
But, of course, the position of honor, walking the bride down the aisle, went to Victor (Eric Braeden). Is he Christine’s dad? No. That’s Jim, the guy who came and went only long enough to be overwhelmed that God blessed him with such a phenomenal daughter.
Is he Paul’s dad? No. But he did periodically hire Paul to do some dirty jobs for him in the past. And, now that Paul is Chief Of Police, believes he should still be at Victor’s beck and call.
No wonder Victor was so mad when Christine did her job and prosecuted Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Victoria (Amelia Heinle), and Sharon (Sharon Case) for a crime they admitted to committing. He gave her away at her wedding. Has she no loyalty!!!
Olivia (Tonya Lee Williams) also believes Paul should be at her beck and call. When Nate calls to say he’ll bring their kidnapped son, Nate Jr. home… on a few conditions, Olivia calls Paul – because he is the only cop on duty, it would seem – and demands he go find them!
Also, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) urges Danny (Michael Damian) to bond with the boy she insists is his. He’s not. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
