The Young and the Restless recap for February 1-5, 2021, features Elena and Devon coming to a decision, Chance taking his leave, Victoria continuing to regress (despite her best efforts), and Kyle’s darkest secret coming to light.
After spending a romantic evening with Devon (Bryton James), Elena (Brytni Sarpy) decided, once and for all, that she doesn’t actually want him back. She’s perfectly happy with Nate (Sean Dominic), thank you very much. And no, she doesn’t want to tell him about her little indiscretion. Devon agreed to keep quiet as well, especially since he knows that Amanda (Mishael Morgan) wouldn’t approve of his actions.
First Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Chance (Donny Boaz) learned that she wouldn’t be able to carry a child to term. Then they learned that Chance wouldn’t be able to provide the necessary sperm sample. And now the two of them aren’t even residing in the same state owning to Chance’s sudden recall into the field – thanks meddlesome FBI!
But don’t think that this forced separation is going to stop the Chancellors from procreating. Abby can provide the egg and pick up a deposit from the local sperm bank, and Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) still offering the use of her uterus so it’s all systems go.
After Rey (Jordan Vilasuso) finds a discarded vodka bottle cap, Sharon (Sharon Chase) immediately demands that Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) begin seeing a therapist. There’s no way she’s going to lose another child to demon booze.
What followed was a bunch of arguments that Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) had to referee and by the time a truce was called nothing concrete had been decided.
After sending Billy (Jason Thompson) a plethora of mixed signals, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) finally took a moment to examine her life – past, present, and future…and in the aftermath of her exploration, she seemed to possess a newfound clarity. Then she threw it all away in order to once again insert herself into Billy’s personal affairs.
Adam (Mark Grossman) continued to push the idea that Sharon not only treat Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) but that she does so in an aggressive, confrontational manner that he hopes will spur her into a full recovery. It fails to do anything more than solidify Chelsea’s hatred of both her boyfriend and his ex.
Sally’s (Courtney Hope) hard work is rewarded with a promotion…which really sticks in Summer’s (Hunter King) craw. However, she decides to remain mum about Sally’s less-than-savory reputation. But only just. And only after being talked off the proverbial ledge by Kyle (Michael Mealor).
Meanwhile, Sally got some leverage of her own to use against the pair, and it came courtesy of a still-sour Theo (Tyler Johnson). Turns out, Kyle may have fathered a child with a very married woman whose husband is very rich, very powerful, and very, very dangerous. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
