The Young and the Restless Recap January 21 2021

The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, January 21, 2021, features Abby’s reproductive system front and center as she throws a temper tantrum in front of Phyllis, Victor and Chance discuss what her future might hold, and Traci and Jack look at the bigger picture.

The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Despite Chance (Donny Boaz) being as supportive as any husband could be, Abby (Melissa Ordway) decides she needs space to process the news that she’ll never be able to carry a baby to term. Naturally, Abby goes to the business establishment of the woman who hates her most, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), and asks for a room.

Phyllis wonders if there’s trouble in newlywed paradise. Abby denies. And almost has a breakdown while doing so. Phyllis lays off and gives her a room – no charge. Abby wonders why she’s being so nice. Phyllis reminds that she’s a very nice person. And Abby is acting like a lunatic.

Here’s What We’re Going To Do

It’s not enough that Victor (Eric Braeden) brought in a specialist to tell Abby the same thing her regular doctor told her. Now, Victor needs to cross-examine Chance about how he plans to handle these crises with Abby. Chance doesn’t tell his father-in-law it’s none of his business and show him the door. Instead, he actually sits and answers Victor’s questions – as if his presence is in any way necessary.

Later, when Victor learns that Abby is at The Grand Phoenix, he makes plans to intrude further. Ah, here Abby comes now!

Traci (Beth Maitland) fills in Jack (Peter Bergman) about what’s going on with their niece. They also discuss it as if their presence would be welcome. This leads to the realization that they are the oldest generation of Abbotts, now that Dina (Marla Adams) is gone. Traci tells Jack he is acting like their Dad. Unlike when Nick (Josh Morrow) hurls this at Victoria (Amelia Heinle), she means it as a compliment. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
