The Young and the Restless Recap: Jack Has A Nightmare Kind of Day

The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, September 22, 2021, dives inside the head of Jack Abbott, as he imagines the citizens of Genoa City weighing in on his life choices, followed by waking up and deciding to deal with the situation head on.

The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

A lonely Jack (Peter Bergman) dreams that his ex-wife, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), is berating him for declaring his love to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Nikki is concerned about the feelings of her baby boy, Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow), and soon Dream Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) pops up to chime in.

Victor exposits that he is a better man than Jack. Victor would never go after a woman who he knows belongs to someone else! Dream Jack, it would seem, can’t access the memories where Victor went after Jack’s sister, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), despite her relationships with other people. Or how Victor kept pursuing Nikki while she was married to Jack.

Then Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) pops up to remind Jack that he could have had her – and Jack wakes up.

Y&R: Next Steps

Jack goes to Nick and confesses that he declared his feelings to Phyllis. Nick is chill about it. He’s not threatened by an old man (he only thinks that last part, he doesn’t say it). He then apologizes to Jack for having an affair with Phyllis while she was married to Jack – and fathering Summer (Hunter King).

He then wishes Jack the best of luck in finding the woman of his dreams – Nick’s going back to Phyllis now. Where he asks her about what Jack said to her about still being in love. Phyllis claims it has nothing to do with the two of them. So let’s have sex now. Meanwhile, Jack is hearing his dead mother’s voice. That doesn’t sound healthy.
