The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, July 9 puts a button on the week by Billy Abbott making a confession to Kyle Abbott, Phyllis Summers surprises Nick Newman, and Chelsea just might outsmart herself.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) threw a party to introduce Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), Traci Carlton (Beth Maitland), and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) to his grandson, Harrison – and Harrison’s mother, Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner).
The evening goes well, but Billy tells Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) that he found Tara a little too charming. And a little too comfortable setting up house in the Abbott Mansion. He tells Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) that Summer Newman (Hunter King) asked Billy to be a pal to Kyle, now that Summer had dumped him. Again. Kyle isn’t feeling very friendly.
Y&R: Arrivederci, Roma
Nick (Joshua Morrow) helps Summer settle in and prepares to leave Milan. But then Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) surprises him with a cross-Atlantic, multi-hour flight (after which she looks as fresh as a daisy or, at least, as fresh as someone who just switched sets, not continents) so that they can have sex. And they do.
Young and Restless: The Plot Thickens
Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) allows Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) to visit with Conner (Judah Mackey). Earlier, he’d convinced Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to grease the wheels of justice and get her released from the mental hospital. Adam doesn’t get a chance to tell Chelsea about his plan before he gets a call claiming Chelsea’s mother, Anita (Catherine Bach), has broken her hip.
Chelsea fusses that she needs to go take care of her beloved mommy right now! Adam wonders if this is a con. (Chelsea and Anita con artists? The horror!) Chelsea denies tearfully. Then she adds, if she is allowed to go take care of Anita she will, of course, take Conner with her.
