The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, July 1, 2020, leaves simmering summer for the chill of winter, as in December 29, 1994. Paul and Christine are planning a New Year’s Eve wedding. But Phyllis has other ideas. Plus, Jack also has fiancee drama, and Dru gets her selfish on, while Lauren proves to be a heart-breaker.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Christine (Lauralee Bell) and Paul (Doug Davidson) are leaving the lawyer’s office after signing their prenup in anticipation of their upcoming wedding.
Sitting across the street is Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). She puts her foot on the gas and… boom… squish.
Trading Up
Jack (Peter Bergman) was engaged to Mari Jo. But then Luan, the woman he had a five-minute affair with in Vietnam over 20 years ago. (Raise your hand if you don’t believe that a rich, spoiled playboy like Smiling Jack would have gone to Vietnam instead of pulling strings for a student deferment, and, if he had somehow ended up there, he would have ever not mentioned it prior to suddenly remembering the sound of helicopter blades)
Anyway, Luan showed up again, along with their son, Keemo, and now Jack is in love with her again. He dumped Mari Jo. She, like Phyllis, is also an unhappy woman scorned.
Help Me Out
Malcolm (Shemar Moore) wants Olivia (Tonya Lee Williams) to convince her doctor friend, Stephanie (Vivica A. Fox) to go to Neil’s (Kristoff St. John’s) New Year’s party with him.
However, a pregnant Dru (Victoria Rowell) has her own plans. She wants to spend her last pre-baby New Year’s Eve with just Neil. So she cancels the party.
Heart Of the Matter
Brad (Don Diamont) asks Lauren (Tracey Bregman) out, and she says yes. Brad thinks he’s up for whatever Lauren can dish out. But has he taken his baby aspirin this morning… Or had an EKG lately?
