The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, June 8 features Genoa City citizens faced with a bombardment of problems. Luckily, several power players managed to survive the onslaught with their dignity intact!
At the Newman rooftop, Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) rehashed about his naked stunt. While he assured Abby it was an accident, his cousin remained dubious. The outrageous antics did boost revenue and Abby knows Kyle is all about business tactics.
Afterward, Kyle asked her about Arturo. After learning about him and her mother, Abby was completely done with the handyman and his services, or so she told Kyle. However, her cousin remained skeptical.
Elsewhere, Arturo and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) knocked heads. The handyman demanded to know why Nikki went behind his back and told Abby about their arrangement.
The Newman matriarch tried to explain herself and insisted if Arturo was more transparent, the situation would have been different. That was the last straw and the angry handyman officially ended his relationship with her.
Sometime later, Arturo interrupted Abby while she tried to relax. The jaded Newman lashed out at him and the handyman took her verbal beating silently. Afterward, he pleaded with her to give him another chance, and Abby’s response was encouraging. While she can’t be with him, they can still be friends…
Across town, Summer’s presence at home was becoming a major problem for Phyllis and Billy. And, the situation became tenser after Summer overheard Phyllis talking negatively about her.
Armed with a new sense of purpose, Summer decided to stir up trouble. First, she teased Billy in a barely there pajama set and then she demanded Phyllis buy her a replacement car. When Summer was rejected by Phyllis, she went to Victor.
Needless to say, by the end of the day, Phyllis and Billy were thoroughly surprised by Summer’s new ride, financed by Victor!

Before Victor bought Summer the car, Sharon met with him about Nick. She implored Victor to stop attacking their family. The Newman powerhouse listened to her list of reasons, but he remained undeterred.
Victor made it clear to Sharon: he will not lose Christian. A plan to Move 2000 miles away was not acceptable and the Newman patriarch would not allow that to happen.
She was not discouraged by his determination. Knowing Victor may refuse to drop the case, Sharon had a backup plan.
At the penthouse, Hilary and Devon discussed Shauna’s situation. Hilary wanted to do the right thing for the teenager, but it didn’t go over well with Devon. Hilary allowed Shauna to live with them without alerting Devon and he was not happy. He stormed out and went straight to see Neil.
Neil listened to Devon list off all his issues with Hilary, the baby, and Shauna and then shocked his son with a stern lecture. Not long after, Devon returned home and gave Hilary and Shauna the shock of their lives. Neil had set him straight help him realize what mattered…
At Crimson Lights, Sharon and Nikki met to discuss Victor and Nick’s unraveling situation. When Nikki seemed resigned to Victor’s decision about destroying Nick’s life, Sharon took out the deadliest weapon against Nikki. She warned the Newman matriarch if she did not do what needed to be done, she would ruin Nikki’s life!
