The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, September 16, 2020, is all about family, and how to protect your own. As Devon reels from his new sister-in-law, Sharon tries to hold onto Rey, Chelsea tries to hold onto Adam, and the Abbotts try to hold onto the past.
Devon (Bryton James) and Amanda (Mishael Morgan) deal with the consequences of learning she is Hilary’s twin sister. They eventually realize that since Hilary is dead, there really aren’t too many consequences. Except Elena (Brytni Sarpy) being upset. But Elena was already upset. So, basically, nothing has changed.
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) wants to protect precious, delicate Connor (Judah Mackey) from Adam’s (Mark Grossman) navel-gazing. She suggests boarding school. For the kid who, a year ago, was so upset at the thought of being separated from Mommy and Daddy that Chelsea dumped Nick (Joshua Morrow) to spend all her time with Adam and Connor, instead. Chelsea also wants to marry Adam in case he goes off to jail.
Sharon (Sharon Case) is terrified of losing Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), especially as she faces her ongoing medical crises. She swears to him that she is no longer treating Adam as a client and will, in fact, keep her distance from him in general. Will it be enough to get Rey to forgive and forget?
The Abbots continue to insist on gleaming some meaning from what very well could have been the random words of an ill woman. Traci (Beth Maitland) notices that Dina (Marla Adams) is wearing a particular necklace in the home movie she urged her children to watch. Traci never saw her wear it before or after! (How would she know this?) Maybe that’s a clue! Jack (Peter Bergman), desperate for something to do, agrees. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
