The Young and the Restless recap for March 2-6, 2020, features an ice storm making strange bedfellows and offering opportunities to heal.
Every good Genoa City-ite knows that it’s sometimes necessary to make the most of a bad situation – especially when ice storms are on the horizon. When such a phenomenon touched down this week, Nicholas (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) took the opportunity to decide that they should never again become intimate – until they then became intimate.
Across town, a stranded Summer (Hunter King) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) abused Lola’s (Sasha Calle) hospitality by canoodling in the open, playing Solitaire in an overly enthusiastic manner and then bogarting the sofa for some sleepy time cuddles. At least, Lola and Theo (Tyler Johnson) were able to indulge in some cuddling and kissing of their own.
Meanwhile, Elena (Brytni Sarpy), Nate (Sean Dominic), and Devon (Bryton James) took the opportunity of being stuck inside a possible clinic site by doctoring an injured youth whom Devon peeled off the sidewalk. Since a good time was had by all it was decided that had found their perfect space.
Also, Sharon (Sharon Case) took ill – and still had to listen to Mariah (Camryn Grimes) prattle on about cheating on Tessa – and Jack (Peter Bergman) and Ashely (Eileen Davidson) received some measure of comfort after engaging in conversation with a spectral Dina (Marla Adams).
And poor Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) had to suffer the indignity of experiencing Braxton Hicks AND catching her brother-in-law and his wife having fireside sex.
Oh, Billy (Jason Thompson) spent the night with Amanda (Mishael Morgan) and Abby (Melisa Ordway) and Chance (Donny Boaz) committed a little B&E, swiped a flash drive, fried Phyllis’s computer, and had sex in her shower.
Lindsay: “I do know that you need to be kinder to yourself and maybe to others, too. I mean, especially now that you see how easy it is…” Mariah: “To make a selfish, idiotic mistake?” Leave it to Mariah’s one-night stand to be the voice of reason. Also, do we think that this incident will soften the antagonism between Mariah and Theo?
Summer: “And what about Jack? He practically helped raise Victoria. He’s got to be really disappointed in Billy.” Not only did Jack co-parent Victoria (Amelia Heinle) – during his tumultuous marriage to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) – he also brought her back from the brink of death by administering CPR after she nearly drowned in the Newman swimming pool.
Jack: [to Sharon] “Ashley…is a breast cancer survivor. If you think there’d be value in talking with her, I could set that up easily.” Interesting fact: During her valiant battle with the disease, Ashley recorded a videotape (in the event that passed on) revealing that Abby’s natural father was Victor Newman. When the little tyke got ahold of and viewed said tape, she went and told Victor the truth.
Kevin: “She paced the well-appointed living room, each step bringing her closer to her fate. Soon there would be no turning back…” Man, if Kevin every committed his off-the-cuff prose to paper, Traci (Beth Maitland) might actually face some stiff competition.
