The Young and the Restless recap for Monday, July 5, 2021, focus on Ashland Locke’s heath and how everyone can use it to their advantage. The plot thickens as the major players plot multiple hostile takeovers.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
The new Chance Comm article was out and everyone enjoyed the piping hot Locke divorce tea. Everyone except those involved, of course. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) took it the worst since he didn’t want his son’s paternity drama spread all over the net. Oh well, that’s the price you pay for being rich and screwing an even richer man’s wife, apparently.
Y&R Recap: Ashland Locke — Talk of the Town
Ashland (Richard Burgi) had bigger things to worry about. His health was getting worse. So much so, he canceled the L.A. trip. Better to stay close to home. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) practically begged him to get treatment. She even tried to bribe him with the dream of merging companies and taking over the world. He made out with her instead.
Ash’s drama didn’t end with the divorce scandal. His diagnosis was on everyone’s mind. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) was on the case and his source confirmed Ashland was seeing an oncologist. This was practically music to his ears. If Ashland was really dying, they could go after his company. Lily (Christel Khalil) was not as thrilled with the idea, being a cancer survivor herself.
Also learning of the oncologist were the Newman men. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) barely had time to welcome Connor (Judah Mackey) home and settle him into the tact house before he was scheming with his dad. He and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) agreed it was a good time for a hostile takeover.
Young Restless Recap: Adam Newman In Control
Adam paid Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) a quick visit. He told her their son was home but sorry, no visit yet. She just wasn’t ready. Chelsea threw a fit. She later lost it on her doc. She demanded he clear the way for a reunion with her boy.
Young and Restless Recap: Phyllis Summers Ruins Everything
Away from that drama but creating some of her own was Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). She spied Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) having coffee with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and practically lost it. Jack was simply celebrating his former almost flame’s promotion and catching up. Besides, it was none of Red’s business, he reminded her.
So, Phyllis did the only thing Phyllis could do and begged Jack to take her to dinner to stop the other redhead from sharing even more time with him. She claimed she needed a friend and it was Jack’s duty. He was floored but gave in.
