The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, October 1, 2021, sees Tessa Porter disappointing Mariah Copeland, Nikki Newman disappointed in Ashland Locke, and Phyllis Summers once again suffering a disappointment like no mother has ever had to suffer.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Mariah (Camryn Grimes) was furious at Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) for telling Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) that she wants to have another baby. Then Mariah was furious at Tessa for her girlfriend telling Mariah that she is not ready to have a baby. Tessa made the incredibly valid point that a child shouldn’t be brought into the world in order to replace someone else.
Tessa is open to them having a baby together. But not now. Not under these circumstances. Mariah pretends to understand. It is obvious that she doesn’t. And is disappointed. Then she pretends to be asleep when Tessa comes to bed.
Y&R Recap: Keep Your Distance
Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) filled her mother in on what Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) found out about Ashland’s (Richard Burgi) past. Victoria won’t tell her mother what she intends to do about her upcoming wedding in light of the revelation, but when Ashland stopped by Victoria’s office, Nikki commanded him not to pressure her daughter (which is exactly what Nikki had been doing earlier). This is Victoria’s decision. She is very disappointed that her fiancé wasn’t honest with her. At the end of the day, Victoria finds him.

Young and the Restless: Slight Delay
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) tells Phyllis (Michelle Summers) that their flight to Milan has been delayed for the night by bad weather. Phyllis reacts as if her life is over. Then she calms down and Nick (Joshua Morrow) takes her home.
Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) notices how Jack is looking at Phyllis and asks what’s going on. Jack admits he still has feelings for his ex-wife…even if he can’t explain why. Traci points out that love comes and goes and changes shape. Yes, Jack says. Though it doesn’t make his sudden Phyllis flare-up any clearer.
