The Young and the Restless recap for April 13-17, 2020, features the Newman family in crisis thanks to Victor’s stubborn refusal to be honest. Yes, some things never change.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
“The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” And boy is Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) learning that the hard way. His stubborn refusal to reveal the goings-on in Kansas to his friends and family has resulted in Adam (Mark Grossman) usurping the family company and estrangement between himself and his children.
Nick (Joshua Morrow) has assured both his father and brother that he intends to fight tooth and nail to right the wrongs perpetrated against Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and she, in turn, has already fired the first shot by letting Alyssa know that her old school chum played her for a fool.
Abby Had A Bad Week
But Victor isn’t the only Newman regretting their actions. Abby (Melisa Ordway) was sure that she had done the right thing by helping Chance (Donny Boaz) destroy the recording that Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) had made.
Only now, it turns out, that confession to a long-ago murder is the only thing that can right Adam’s wrong. Compounding the blonde heiress trouble is the fact that Chance doesn’t seem particularly interested in helping her get the goods on his bestie. Why does every man she dates vex her so?!
YR Musings
Let us know in the comments, what do YOU think the outcome of the Kansas Kaper will be. Was it really Victor who killed AJ Montalvo? Or was the more likely murderer Hope? Or perhaps, it was a wee Adam out to protect his mama from the big bad loan shark.
Victor: “You know, Victoria once threw a letter opener right into that portrait there.” Adam: “Afterwards, she clearly forgave you…for whatever you did to make her upset.” She did. And the inciting incident was Victor returning to the company and attempting to demote her to COO.
Nick: “Vick started in that mailroom as a teenager…she spent decades there, moving up the ranks, proving to our father that she was a worthy successor…he told her no so man times…Did she resort to blackmail? Hell, no!” Umm…actually she obtained the CEO position by emotionally blackmailing Victor into giving it to her. She’s really no better morality wise.
Amanda: “I heard you went to some fancy boarding school in England.” Nate: “Well, my upbringing is a little more complicated than that…My dad died when he was young – hit by a car…my mom’s amazing. She’s a doctor too.”
For the uninitiated, Nate’s parents are Nathan Hastings and Olivia Barber. Nathan was indeed killed after being struck by a car – an incident that occurred while he was attempting to return Nate (whom he had kidnapped) to Olivia.
Kyle: “So I’ve been noodling around this idea I’m calling Jabot Classics.” Hopefully, he won’t try to resurrect the face cream that caused all those all deaths way back when – thanks Gloria!
Maybe he could bring back that old lip-layering technique that Jill invented back when she was still a lowly Foster toiling in the company’s makeup department. It did allow Jabot to get away with selling packets containing two different – yet complementary – shades of lipstick.
And selling two of something is always better, and more costly to the consumer, than one. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
