The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, October 29, 2021, closes out the month with Abby Newman Chancellor fighting to stay in denial, Nicholas Newman and Phyllis Summers having the conversation they should have had months ago, and Noah Newman listening to Tessa Porter’s woes.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) visits his daughter to offer his two cents on Chance’s presumed death. Abby (Melissa Ordway) keeps coming up with excuse after excuse for why the situation is not what it seems. She doesn’t even want Nina (Tricia Cast) told since she knows it isn’t true. (Luckily, it’s not up to her, and Christine Blair Williams [Lauralee Bell] plans to fill Chance’s mom in.)
Abby is too upset to take care of little Dominic, so she hands him off to Victor. Who hands him off to a visiting Mariah (Camryn Grimes). Later, however, Christine stops by with even more evidence of Chance’s death – his wedding ring.
Young and the Restless: Side Note
Earlier, Mariah was going on and on about Dominic to Tessa, who tried to distract her. Mariah left. And Noah (Rory Gibson) showed up. He’s just Johnny on the spot where Tessa is concerned, isn’t he?

Y&R Recap: Talk Therapy
Nick (Joshua Morrow) attempts to apologize to Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), but she wants to talk about how he wasn’t supportive enough when she went mental over Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner), and how he keeps breaking up and making up with his family, no matter how many times he says this is the last straw (she has a point about that last one, but she should be used to it by now).
Nick says, sure, they have points of contention, but they should just focus on how in love they are and be happy with that. Phyllis says she’s not happy. And she says Nick isn’t happy either. Admit it. Nick wonders if this is Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) talking.
