The Young and the Restless recap for December 30-January 3, 2020, features Nicholas and Chelsea calling it quits, Adam emerging a victor, and a New Year’s Day full of surprises.
The Young and the Restless Recap
While most of the Genoa City citizens rang in the New Year toasting Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor’s (Eric Braden) trillionth anniversary and smooching their respective partners, birthday boy Nicholas (Joshua Morrow) was busy having a painful heart to heart with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan).
“It’s become pretty clear to me that you should be with Adam…so I have to let you go. Can you do the same for me.” Boy, she could!
Adam Wins The Girl
Irony of ironies, the relationship-ending conversation came mere days after Chelsea read Adam (Mark Grossman) for filth after finding out that he had tried to get Phyllis to pursue Nick.
In his own defense, Adam offered up the opinion that he was just trying to accelerate the inevitable. But, he was also very, very sorry and — as it turns out — psychic so everything worked out in the end.
YR Musings
What was the biggest New Year’s Day shocker? Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) admitting to Mariah (Camryn Grimes) that she was once married — to platinum recording artist Tanner Watts — or Sharon (Sharon Case) hiding the fact that she found a lump in her breast.
Which one of Victor’s (Eric Braden) playful teases made you chuckle the most? When he told Jack that his New Year’s resolution was to be nicer to him or when he told Adam it was to keep a closer eye on his medication?
Was one of the films that Connor consumed at the Newman Ranch Disney’s 1988 gem Oliver & Company? If so that would go a long way in explaining where his newly-adopted kitten got his name. Oh, and by the bye, don’t give a kitten cow’s milk; it’s not a healthy option. #TheMoreYouKnow
“I’m going to be a big sister!” Gosh, Bella. Way to go running that carefully-crafted surprise that your Mommy and Daddy were about to spring on that glittering assemblage of friends and family.
For a business that was on the verge of declaring bankruptcy just a few years ago, doesn’t it seem a bit of a stretch that Fenmore’s is launching two brand new stores — in Tokyo and Seoul no less.
It seems we learn something new about Amanda every week. The most current nugget of information? She’s a really big Rihanna fan. But does it actually explain anything about her? We wonder…
“I have no desire to get involved with anyone.” That’s really too bad Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). Because, by the looks of things, the show is about to put you in a love triangle alongside Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Chance (Donny Boaz). Guess it’s over with Adam, not that they were ever more than friends.
Speaking of Phyllis, which ex-husband do you feel she has the best friendship with? Nicholas or Jack (Peter Bergman)? The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
