The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, January 6, 2021, features a few steps forward and a few steps back, as Amanda gets a commitment from her biological mother for a meeting, Adam assures Chelsea he’ll be there every step of the way for her recovery, and Kevin pumps Victoria for details about what’s going on at Newman Enterprises.
Amanda’s (Mishael Morgan) phone call to birth mom, Naya (Ptosha Storey), comes with a promise for the two to meet face to face – ASAP. Amanda bubbles to Devon (Bryton James) her excitement and anticipation.
Devon tries to temper her expectations, and reminds Amanda that she already has a new family member – him! A seething Elena (Brytni Sarpy) overhears and pouts. Naturally, after all that build-up and excitement, Naya bails on her long-lost daughter.
Adam (Mark Grossman) sits by Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) bedside and tells her he will do whatever he has to until she is well. As Chelsea is mute and paralyzed, she doesn’t get much say in the matter. Adam then tells Nate (Sean Dominic) that he doesn’t trust him.
After all, Nate was in on the plot to make Adam believe he’d killed Victor (Eric Braeden). Adam has a point. Except for the fact that, in this case, his actually trying to kill Victor would appear to be the greater crime. Adam goes over Nate’s head and gets Chelsea released into his care. Nate advises against it. Adam doesn’t care. Chelsea still gets nothing to say in the matter.
Kevin (Greg Rikaart) asks Victoria (Amelia Heinle) all sorts of prying questions about Newman business. She finds it weird but doesn’t press. Victoria then leaves to taunt Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) about needing to take money from Nick (Joshua Morrow) in order to succeed in business. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
