The Young and the Restless recap for Tuesday, January 12, 2021, finally allows Amanda to unload on the mom who abandoned her, Lily finally clues in on more of Billy’s past, Kyle and Summer finally make it to Los Angeles, and Abby finally takes a pregnancy test.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Amanda’s (Mishael Morgan) mother, Naya (Ptosha Storey), finally shows up in Genoa City with a story about how Amanda’s father was killed in a car accident before Amanda and Hilary were born, so Naya had no choice but to give her newborn twin daughters up for adoption.
Amanda isn’t feeling forgiving, though. Naturally, no discussion about Amanda can avoid talking about Hilary and the saint she was – and Amanda didn’t even know her! The recitation is interrupted by Naya’s other daughter, Imani (Leigh-Ann Rose), who wants to call the cops – until Naya confesses that Amanda is telling the truth. Amanda goes running to Devon (Bryton James).

I Know What You Did Last Girlfriend
Lily (Christel Khalil) overhears Billy (Jason Thompson) and Summer (Hunter King) discussing how Billy slept with Summer right after he broke up with Phyllis. Lily is shocked and tells Billy this is so much worse than anything else she’s ever learned about him.
Newly arrived in LA, Kyle (Michael Mealor) tells Summer he will never forgive Billy for what he did to poor, innocent Summer. At no point does anyone so much as acknowledge that Summer spent months pursing her mother’s boyfriend, and that the sex was mutually consensual, and that Summer is a legal adult.
Broken Wings
Abby (Melissa Ordway) gets a negative pregnancy test result and instantly assumes that there is something wrong with her. Chance (Donny Boaz) reasonably points out that it takes up to a year on average for most couples. But Abby is rich. Shouldn’t the rules not apply to her?
